Olbermann’s opening spiel this evening was a summary of the wonderfulness that was the inauguration, capped by an abject plunge into the deep end of the sycophants’ swimming pool, claiming:

“the rest of us can neither outlast nor out-think him.”

And what was it that convinced Olbermann that Pres. Obama is our superior in intellect and endurance?  The fact that he jumped out of his limo to speed up the inaugural parade, and handled Ted Kennedy’s health incident with aplomb.

If Olbermann is ready, on such thin evidence, to cede the intellectual and physical high ground to Pres. Obama, perhaps he should step aside in favor of someone made of sterner, and more self-confident, stuff.

Question: What demonstrated more aplomb: Pres. Obama’s handling of Ted Kennedy or Pres. Bush’s handling of the shoe-thrower?  Yet O has never given W credit for his cool under footwear fire.
