Fox News Watch’s Cheeky Advice To Olbermann & Co.

Hey Keith: “try to hang onto that gig you’ve got, cause you’re running out of places to work!” That’s a sample of the less-than-reverent advice Fox News Watch doled out to various members of the MSM this evening.  The show took as its inspiration the messages that Pres. Bush left for Pres. Obama and the Bush twins shared with the Obama girls.  But the News Watch counsel was considerably cheekier than that of the Bush missives.

To be entirely accurate, whereas Jenna and Barbara’s letter was published in the Wall Street Journal, we don’t know what W wrote to O. But we’ll go out on a limb and assume it was respectful–which is somewhat more than can be said for the suggestions News Watch passed along to the likes of Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Katie Couric and other luminaries of the liberal media.

Host Jon Scott narrated the segment, which included these friendly bits of advice:

  • Chris Matthews: see a doctor about that leg tingle.
  • Time magazine: having put Obama on the cover 15 times in the last 18 months, try to come up with a new favorite son.
  • Keith Olbermann: since you got booted from that election-night anchor gig, take a lesson from David Gregory–tough but fair.

And so it went, with more such well-intentioned counsel for the New York Times, Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson, and Brian Williams . . . who Scott advised, based on this kind of report, to “hire a food taster before you sample any gifts from Olbermann.”

Ouch.
