Sharing with America President Obama’s daily schedule on GMA today, Diane Sawyer managed to work in a little shot at President Bush’s early-to-bed habits.

DIANE SAWYER: For the first time, we have details this morning on the new night-owl presidency. We have the president’s schedule: compare it to yours. He hits the gym at 6:45 AM, does weights and cardio. He reads several paper, eats breakfast with the family, sees his daughter off to school, both daughters off to school. Then makes the 30-second commute to work, landing him in the Oval Office at 9 AM. A lot of snorting around here about that.
His office day, by the way, ends at 10 PM. And the former president used to be in bed by 10 PM. So, the night owl has arrived.
No word of course on how early W used to start his work day. Sawyer leaves us only with the impression that Pres. Bush was a slacker compared to the new man on the job.

I have a new schedule for Mr. Obama that would benefit this nation, not to mention what remains of the free world, in a really big way:
6:45am-Hit the gym
8:00am-Eat breakfast with the family, sees daughters off to school, kisses the wife, etc.
9:00am-arrive in Oval Office.
9:02am-Read the NYT.
10:15-Sneak a few puffs out on the patio.
10:30am-Send lots of anonymous, nasty emails to Rush Limbaugh.
11:00am-Sneak a few more puffs out on the patio.
11:15am-Practice putting on the Oval Office rug.
11:30am-Watch re-run of Sanford and Son.
12:00pm-Eat lunch.
1:00pm-Hit through small bucket at driving range.
1:30pm-Arrive at the 1st tee.
6:00pm-Dinner with the family
7:00pm-Help daughters with homework.
9:00pm-Watch Hannity on TV.
10:00pm-Read bed time stories to daughters.
11:00pm-Sneak another smoke, then its off to bed in order to be well rested for another busy day.
If he adheres to the above until January 20, 2013, this republic just might survive.

There is another possibility of Obama’s working until 10:00pm that Diane probably has not considered:
Obama is stuck in the White House not just with his wife Michelle, but with his mother-in-law as well.
Those two factors combined would be enough to cause me to want to sleep on the Oval Office couch every night.
