Military Succeeded ‘Beyond Any Expectation’ In Iraq? Speak For Yourself, Mr. President

Speak for yourself, Mr. President . . .

Addressing the troops at Camp Lejeune today to announce his plans to withdraw all but about 50,000 troops from Iraq, Pres. Obama praised the success that has been achieved there.  Among other things, he said:

“The men and women of the United States military have served with honor, and succeeded beyond any expectation.”

Any expectation?  Beyond yours, certainly. You, Mr. President, opposed this war from the beginning, claiming it could not succeed.  Back in 2006 you called for surrender and withdrawal.  You opposed the surge, and even after it succeeded said you were right in having opposed it.

But not beyond the expectation of Pres. Bush.  He and his administration took our country into Iraq saying we could succeed.  They suffered the slings and arrows of you and those like you who for their own political purposes declared the war a failure and accused our troops of serving with anything but honor.  They called for the surge when you and much of Congress opposed it.

For you now not merely to hail the success, but to have the audacity to suggest that no one could have expected it, to fail to acknowledge not just the military courage of our troops but the political courage of our former leaders, and your own failure of courage and vision, is contemptible.

Isn’t it amazing how things change when viewed from the other side of the table?

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall the first time Obama received a for-real intelligence briefing.

I bet the pucker factor was way, way up there.

I’m with you Mark….I was furious listening to what I could stand from this man…he is nothing but a phony baloney hypocrite with his words, it takes a lot of arrogance and audacity to spew what he did today…and the msm will swoon as always.

It’s going to be a long four years of this political tripe.

My gratitude goes to all the military, all others who are fighting the good fight, VP Cheney and President Bush…who stood their ground, didn’t back down and did exactly what they said they were going to do.

My ever-lasting gratitude goes to those who gave their all…and to those who loved them.

I hope all of this fight won’t be undone by this fightful man and all that are on his team.

A few weeks from now, my brother-in-law will be heading over to Iraq to work for a contractor there for six months.

It really wouldn’t bother me if he were to decide not to go.

    Hey Dave…

I hope he prospers, but more than anything, I hope he stays safe!

Believe me…I have the same worry you do regarding Iraq and the O-Team.

Fustration is what I feel the most with is happening to this country and will continue to do so for years to come.
