Is it time for RNC Chairman Michael Steele to say ’sayanora’? I’m starting to think so in light of his latest embarrassing and contradictory statements. [H/t Sam Stein, HuffPo--what can I say, that's where I found the story!]
From Stein column:
Speaking with CNN’s Don Lemon [video at link above]: Steele said he “would think about” running for the White House but only if “that is where God wants me to be at that time.”
Discussing his tiff with Rush Limbaugh in which he called Rushbo “incendiary and ugly,” Steele contended that it was all a part of a grand “strategic” plan. I’m very introspective about things. I’m a cause-and-effect kind of guy. So if I do something, there’s a reason for it… It may look like a mistake, a gaffe. There is a rationale, there is a logic behind it,” he said. “I want to see what the landscape looks like. I want to see who yells the loudest. I want to know who says they’re with me but really isn’t. It helps me understand my position on the chess board. It helps me understand, where, you know, the enemy camp is and where those who are inside the tent are,” Steele added. “It’s all strategic.”
A time when Steele should be tending to his chairmanship potatoes and avoiding the limelight is about the worst moment I can think of to float the idea of a presidential run. And if Steele’s so introspective, perhaps he should keep his introspection . . . to himself. Finally, if it’s true that Steele planned his confrontation with Rush, that would bring into question the sincerity of the apology he later issued Limbaugh. These are just the latest examples of Steele’s poor judgment. Last weekend, former RNC Chairman Haley Barbour gave the Republican response to the president’s weekly address. Smooth, funny, incisive, disciplined, tough. Now that’s my idea of an RNC Chair. Why can’t there be second acts in politics?

I can’t even watch this guy.
If the Republican party expects to become relevant, they better find someone to carry the torch. Someone that has conviction and can project those convictions.
Steele isn’t that guy. Hell, I don’t know if that guy is out there!
Steele is rapidly becoming a boil on the behind of the Republican Party.
Perhaps it is time he was lanced.
The window for rescuing this nation from its rapidly approaching, self-inflicted demise is closing rather quickly, thanks mainly to the rapidity of the current socialist coup, which is advancing with alarming speed.
The republicans need a chairman with the single-minded purpose of stopping the Obamanistas cold in their tracks, not one who is openly planning a future run for POTUS.
This indicates to me that Mr. Steele just doesn’t get it.

I was against Steele becoming Chairman of the RNC from the beginning and my reasons why…mainly because I have listened to his words before for months and months on various shows and segments…
I was also in the minority…as usual sometimes.
People really should take time to listen to what people stand for and have done a little research themselves before going along with the crowd because it is the popular thing to do…
Oh well, we are paying for it now…in more ways than one.
By the way…the respect I once had for this guy has all but slipped by.
