Early Show’s Sleazy Interview of Levi Johnston & Family: ‘Were Palins Snobby?’

How sleazy and rock-bottom was Maggie Rodriguez’s interview of Levi Johnston and his family, aired on The Early Show this morning?  At one point Rodriguez asked Levi’s sister whether she thought the Palins were “snobby.”

Consider that. CBS thought it was good journalism to seek and air the opinion of the sister of the former boyfriend of the daughter of a former vice-presidential candidate whether she thought that former vice-presidential candidate’s family was “snobby.” How the network of Edward R. Murrow has fallen.  Will Maggie head to the local high school next week to ask that smart girl from the math club whether she thinks the head cheerleader has a bad personality?

If you care, you can view my edited low-lights of the rest of the interview, in which Rodriguez also invites Levi Johnston to accuse the Palins of lying, and asks this question of transcendent importance to the American public: “did you get your heart broken?”

I can’t help but ask: why is all this deemed newsworthy but CBS and the rest of the MSM apparently deem it beneath their dignity to air or discuss some apparently very damaging videotape of the sitting Vice-President’s daughter?
