On his eponymous show tonight, Schultz accused former UN Ambassador John Bolton of “psycho talk” for advocating attacks on Somali pirate villages.  There’s just one problem: if Ed had read the Beantown subsidiary of the New York Times, he would have known that Pres. Obama has ordered the Pentagon to prepare plans to do the very same thing.

“Psycho Talk” is a regular Ed Show segment, and here was Schultz going after Bolton.

ED SCHULTZ: Have you heard some of the crazy things that are being said by conservatives these days?  It’s time for Psycho Talk. [Cue edgy music with echoes of the movie that made Anthony Perkins famous].  Checking into Psycho Talk today, former UN Ambassador and war-monger John Bolton: here’s what he thinks we should do with pirates, we should invade Somalia with a coalition of the willing. We’ve heard that before. It would be “prudential response to piracy.”  Of course it would [said mockingly].  Bolton endorses a ground invasion even after the successful rescue of the captain.  Listen to this.

Cut to clip of Bolton telling a Fox News host we need to plan this prudently.  Unless we go in and really end this problem once and for all we will simply see it grow over time.

SCHULTZ: That’s the answer? Let’s invade? That puts him in in the psycho talk war zone tonight. Mr. Bolton, you are x-ed out of the Psycho Talk zone.

Just one problem Ed: PBO is exploring the very same option.  Here’s the Globe report[emphasis added]:

US officials said today they are considering attacking the areas on the Somalia coast where pirates are staging a record number of hijackings.

Pentagon officials said planning was underway to determine how US military forces off the Horn of Africa could go after the pirate network that operates from a series of coastal villages that are thriving from the millions of dollars in ransom money that has been extorted from international shipping companies in recent months.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss internal planning, said military leaders were acting on orders from President Obama to come up with a more aggressive approach to control the rise in piracy.

Ruh-roh!  Guess that makes PBO a potential “psycho” and “war-monger,” too!
