Schultz Seems To Accuse Bush Admin Of ‘Butchering’ Detainees

Most FinkelBlog readers might think it’s not worth tuning into Ed Schultz’s show on MSNBC at all.  But tonight it paid to watch till the very last second.  Because that’s when he showed what’s really in his soul: Schultz seemingly accused the Bush administration of “butchering” suspected terrorist detainees.

For good measure, Schultz announced that he’s “wishing” Dick Cheney winds up in jail.

Earlier in the show, Rhode Island Dem Senator Sheldon Whitehouse—the man who was elected because in some parallel universe Lincoln Chafee wasn’t liberal enough—claimed that Dick Cheney is sounding the alarm about the Obama admin’s weakness on terror because he’s trying to influence the future jury in his criminal trial.  Right.  Appearing later, The Nation’s Katrina Vanden Heuvel naturally thought that made perfect sense.

VANDEN HEUVEL: I was interested in what Sen. Whitehouse said earlier in the show, where he talked about Dick Cheney traveling the country on this torture tour. It’s almost like a defendant trying to work a jury.  I think Dick Cheney is concerned about prosecution.

A bit later, MSNBC’s Carlos Watson weighed in.

CARLOS WATSON: And that’s why I think [Cheney] could risk more serious scrutiny. I still don’t think he’ll end up in jail, but much more serious scrutiny.

ED SCHULTZ: Well, you never know: that’s what I’m wishing for! I don’t know about anybody else out there.

At the very end of the show, came this exchange between Michael Medved and Schultz.

MICHAEL MEDVED: I think what we have done, is we have given the enemy very specific information about harsh interrogation that did prove, according to most of the people who were directly involved, useful in guaranteeing our security.

SCHULTZ: But Michael, that is to try to gain the moral high ground and show the rest of the world that there is a better way and people can live side-by-side without butchering one another.

I don’t see how Schultz’s statement can be interpreted other than as accusing the Bush administration of “butchering” people.

Try telling that to the Islamist barbarians, Ed.

After all, they have been butchering their infidel neighbors (as well as each other) for 14 centuries now, and show no signs of letting up.

Does Ed seriously think Daniel Pearl had his throat cut because we waterboarded someone? Does he think they flew planes into the WTC, attacking CIVILIANS…because we have no morals?
Oh, wait…that’s true! Only waterboarding isn’t what they had in mind. They think our whole western way of life is immoral and decadent!!
Should we live by Islamic law to show them that we are moral???

    Helloooo, McFly!!! Anybody home????

And the bulk of the decadence the Islamists despise has been brought about here by the left.

They don’t seem to grasp the fact that, should the Islamists ultimately prevail, the libs will be second in line for the mass beheadings.

    The gays will be first.
