Somewhere this morning, maybe in a scroll at Morning Joe, I saw an item about New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo cracking down on immigration fraud. Wow, I thought: what a pleasant surprise! I immediately devised a political theory to explain his move: as Cuomo prepares to run for governor, he must have decided he needs to appeal to average New Yorkers concerned about the flood of illegal immigration into the state.
So I Googled ‘Cuomo’ + ‘immigration’ and sure enough found lots of stories. I focused on an article in the New York Times with this encouraging headline: “Cuomo Widens a Probe Into Immigration Fraud”.
Images of a hard-nosed state Attorney General cracking down on people who sneak into the country illegally filled my head. It was almost too good to be true. In fact, it was too good to be true. Cuomo isn’t cracking down on fraudulent, illegal immigration. He’s going after people who . . . defraud immigrants!
The lead paragraphs explains what it’s all about:
Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo said Thursday that his office had issued more than 50 subpoenas to individuals and businesses in New York City — including numerous immigrant-assistance organizations, a travel agency, an English-language school and a church — as part of a widening investigation into immigration fraud.
Customers have complained that the businesses and their directors have masqueraded as legitimate providers of immigrant services, many offering legal aid they are not authorized or able to provide, officials in Mr. Cuomo’s office said. Some immigrants told investigators that they were falsely promised permanent residency or American citizenship, even though the firms or individuals were not qualified to secure such benefits.
Don’t get me wrong: rip-off artists should be punished, whomever their victims might be. But wouldn’t it be nice if at least once, a Dem official actually tried to crack down on illegal immigration itself?

Yeah…it would also be nice if they would use the word ILLEGAL like they did not in above statement.
Doesn’t this just figure…I would ask, when is this ever going to end…but I never see it happening anymore…ever.
The fabric of our country is being torn to shreds daily by the politicians and judges, the msm goes without saying.
I’m sickened…to put it mildly.
