It happened today in a report by ABC’s Dan Harris. In fairness, Harris was seeking something of an “on the one hand, on the other” moment, and did play a clip from Bay Buchanan praising Palin. But then came this:
DAN HARRIS: Palin is an unpredictable and often polarizing party spokesperson. Witness her comments on Fox News last night.
Cut to clip of Palin’s conversation with Sean Hannity.
SARAH PALIN: If Americans aren’t paying attention, unfortunately our country could evolve into something we do not even recognize. Something that is certainly so far from what the founders of our country had in mind for us.
SEAN HANNITY: Socialism?
PALIN: Well, that is where we are headed.
Note that it wasn’t Sarah who first used the S-word. She focused instead on the huge gap between the limited government, particularly at the federal level, that our founders envisioned, and the growing gob that is government under Pres. Obama.
When Hannity suggested “socialism” to describe the situation, a candid Palin agreed. Can anyone really doubt it? A government projected to gobble up 40% of the economy? A government that has become majority owner of the corporation that at one time was synonymous with America? A president who hires and fires private sector executives and proposes nationalizing health care, one of the largest sectors of our economy?
What’s polarizing about calling it what it is?
Note that the praise for Palin came from the conservative, Bay Buchanan, but the criticism—”polarizing”—came as an editorial comment directly from reporter Harris’s lips.
PS: check out the screen graphic: what makes Palin a GOP “party crasher” in ABC’s view? She was after all its vice-presidential candidate in the last election!

Apparently socialism isn’t bad….it’s the “polarizing” over it that she’s causing that is bad.
Socialism is both hunky and dorey if we are not “polarized” over it!
Just like when a Democrat gets caught in a scandal; it’s not the scandal, but the fact that Republicans “politicize” it that is the problem.
Palin is a “party-crasher” because she is SO 2008! She should have the decency to disappear back into the Alaskan tundra where she belongs. \sarc
I’m afraid that Governor Palin and conservatives have not been forceful enough in their statements and criticism of the socialist onslaught. Socialism may be the least of what’s happening to us now, because it has the appearance of a full fledged coup d’etat. In any case, Mrs. Palin should not be on the receiving end of criticisms by these MSM airheads–most if not all of whom have direct ties to radicalism of the 1960s. If an analysis of who was where when, many of the “on air personalities” and their editors were sitting in university administration buildings after the take-overs in the late 1960s and early 1970s. They never left. They might have changed clothes, but remained the radicals they had always been. Through the Obama administration what we see emerging is the fulfillment of the Left’s wildest dream–the take-down of America.
Moreover, Rahm and his crew from ACORN have taken over the United States Census where they can count and count and count(like they have always done in Chicago). Their run for office is unending. Their aims are not to serve the people, but to have the people serve them.
Dan Harris is a joke. Suggesting that Mrs. Palin is “polarizing” is ridiculous.
Where Obama is taking us as a nation is way beyond mere socialism.
This is a full-blown statist coup, and if it isn’t stopped soon, there won’t be much left to save by the next election.

All above summed it up for me just perfectly.
..and Dave, I’m usually an optimist, what I see coming is down the road is eerie.
