Ask yourself: particularly in light of her trip to Pakistan, who’s sounding more like a Commander-in-Chief these days: Hillary Clinton or that hope-’n-change fella back in DC?
This morning’s Today show ran part of Andrea Mitchell’s interview of Hillary in Pakistan. You can wonder about the wisdom of Clinton scolding the Pakistanis for providing al Qaeda a “safe haven in Pakistan since 2002,” adding “I find it hard to believe that nobody in your government knows where they are and couldn’t get them if they really wanted to.” But you sure can’t question her moxie in making those statements while on Pakistani soil.
Can anyone imagine Pres. Obama saying something similar? Neither can I. Listen, too, to the video clip from the Mitchell interview. Hillary expresses American foreign policy in the first person. It’s about what “I” would do. The name Barack Obama is never mentioned.
Hillary and Obama surely share a similar liberal domestic agenda. But can anyone doubt there was something to her famous “it’s 3 AM” campaign commercial? And that being so, is it really believable that Clinton has canned all her presidential ambitions? Why wouldn’t she think of giving it a go in 2016? For that matter, if PBO stumbles badly over the next year or so . . . is it inconceivable that in 2012, Clinton could become Ted Kennedy to Barack Obama’s Jimmy Carter?

Mark, glad to see you posting again.
You are right about Hillary. Never means not until I think I can win.
Thanks D1. It’s good to have a new item at FinkelBlog. I posted it here because there is no media-criticism angle that would justify posting it at NewsBusters, where I’ve been posting most of my work.
“Hillary Clinton has flatly said she’ll never run for president again.”
Which is why I believe she intends to do exactly that, and in 2012, too.
Hillary is a political animal, and she has to be more than a little miffed that the Obama machine took down the Clinton cabal so effortlessly.
No way she walks away now, and I expect her days at Foggy Bottom are numbered, as she needs to start distancing herself from Obama, and soon.
Let’s just hope that by 2012, Obama, Pelosi, Reid, etc. have so damaged the party brand that even a RINO like Romney or Huck could beat her handily.

Welcome back, Mark!
Wow. She talks about how “I” would take responsibility for past mistakes and how “I” would offer a new way forward.
I’d say the gauntlet has been thrown down in front of her boss.
It will be interesting to watch…Obama will have to decide if she’s more dangerous as SoS or a bigger threat on the outside.
LOL.
That could be a tougher decision than Afghanistan!
